Chiara Di Mambro

Director of Strategy for Italy and Europe, ECCO - The Italian Climate Think Tank

Chiara Di Mambro is Director of Strategy for Italy and Europe at ECCO. Previously, she worked in both the Italian and European public administrations, collaborating in various capacities with the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE) since 2005 and being seconded to the European Commission’s DG Climate between 2010 and 2012. She was also a member of the MASE technical delegation to the UNFCCC from 2013 to 2018 and served as co-chair of the informal EU coordination group on climate change mitigation policies from 2014 to 2016.

Her experience is rooted in an in-depth knowledge of the Emissions Trading Directive, from its initial national implementation, when she served first as a member and subsequently as coordinator of the Technical Secretariat of the ETS Committee (2015), as well as a member of the working group responsible for developing national positions during the directive’s numerous revisions. Over time, her expertise has broadened to encompass EU climate change policies more generally, including participation in the development of technical positions on climate dossiers at the European level and in the national implementation of some of these policies.
