Event
The development of large-scale renewable energy plants (utility scale) represents an essential lever to achieve national decarbonization goals. However, their diffusion often encounters obstacles related to territorial acceptability, with resistance from local communities and conflicts in land use and/or visual and environmental impact of the plants. To address this challenge, it is fundamental to identify and promote models capable of combining the development of renewable energies with the generation of environmental, economic, and social benefits for the hosting territories and to promote a participatory approach in the development and implementation phases of the plants.
The conference aims to explore national and international best practices, analyzing experiences of community involvement, compensation tools, and innovative models of value sharing. Particular attention will be given to practices and experiences that have been able to transform large renewable energy plants from a source of conflict into an opportunity for local development.
The meeting aims to offer a comparative framework useful for institutions and operators to outline replicable strategies, capable of accelerating the energy transition while allowing the development and implementation of large renewable energy plants with the consent and participation of local communities.
