Italy is entering a new phase of solar growth. After exceeding 40 GW of installed PV and adding nearly 7 GW in 2024, the country is accelerating toward its 2030 target of around 80 GW. Utility-scale and C&I segments are now driving the market, supported by corporate PPAs, hybrid PV-plus-storage projects, and Terna’s major grid investments. At the same time, developers must navigate permitting constraints, grid saturation, evolving national incentives, and growing ESG expectations.
