Energy storage systems: regulatory and technological scenarios from flexibility to the Net Zero Industry Act

The conference aims to explore the strategic role of storage systems and innovative energy storage solutions in the development of the national electricity system, in light of new European directives and the objectives of the Net Zero Industry Act. The main regulatory drivers that will guide the integration of storage systems in Italy will be analyzed, highlighting opportunities and challenges for different market segments. A particular focus will be dedicated to the flexibility services that storage can offer to the electricity grid, promoting greater penetration of renewables and system security. Emerging technological scenarios, industrial development prospects, and possible synergies between regulation, innovation, and the European production chain will also be examined. The event is proposed as a moment of dialogue between institutions, regulators, companies, and associations, with the aim of outlining growth trajectories and policies necessary to make Italy a competitive player in the European climate neutrality scenario.
