Event
Space exploration requires energy availability for access to space, orbital stations, satellites, and to enable long-term human stays on lunar and planetary surfaces. On the other hand, space exploration aims to find resources, including energy resources, to be used on-site and transferred to Earth. These needs are conflicting or could be integrated and made synergistic.
The panel explores the bidirectional relationship between energy and space, highlighting both technological and strategic challenges and the most concrete opportunities for businesses: emerging projects, supply chains, and business models where public and private sectors can collaborate, leveraging the cross-cutting impacts of the New Space Economy, starting from the energy sector. It is in this scenario, where traditional industry and new non-space actors find common ground, that Beyond Exploration (BeX) is born, the new hub for dialogue between industry, research, and institutions dedicated to the European space economy.
