The FER-X auction has brought the discussion on renewables to a level of maturity and concreteness enormously greater than in recent years. The projects, having acquired certainty on revenues, are now effectively ready for construction and financing. And so, after so much talk about authorizations and pipeline, the topics of interest, language, and industry questions are finally changing. Will the EPC prices hypothesized by manufacturers before the auction be in line with those they will incur? What operational criticalities will arise? Will there be prevalent formulas? And then: what will the banks propose – and ask for? How far can leverage be pushed? And more generally: will there be a seat for everyone or will someone be left standing?
