Event
The rapid transition toward non-dispatchable renewable energy sources is transforming electric power systems. As photovoltaic solar plants, wind generation, and battery energy storage systems expand, traditional grid management faces new challenges: reduced system inertia, transient instability, and more complex coordination of black-start capabilities after widespread outages or catastrophic events.
Owners and operators of renewable plants and storage assets must meet Grid Code requirements, ensure operational continuity, and optimize O&M through power network digitalization. In this session, we show how Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories' protection, control, and automation technologies enable seamless grid integration of storage systems, photovoltaic plants, and wind farms (Grid Code compliance) without compromising cybersecurity. These solutions help maintain stability and flexibility and support regional and national restoration after major outages by leveraging distributed renewable resources and improving reliability during recovery. Our solutions help utilities, industries, and critical infrastructures sustain operational continuity, maximize energy resilience, and ensure Grid Code compliance, turning complexity into a competitive advantage.
