Event
The energy transition is not only a technological and economic transformation, but also a profoundly cultural one. Renewable sources and electrification are now at the center of a polarized debate and, as with many other complex issues of our time, there is a narrative plane and a reality plane. The distance between these two planes is fueled by obsolete information, partial and false myths still very present in the public debate, which constitute a concrete obstacle to the transition. The event, organized by Italy for Climate, an initiative of the Foundation for Sustainable Development, will be an opportunity to bridge this gap and discuss, through an open dialogue between experts from the world of information and various industry operators, what renewables need to consolidate their role as a protagonist of the energy system not only at a technological level but also in people's perception. With journalists, we will address the narrative plane and what could be the antidotes to the spread of distorted information that influences public debate; with industry operators, on the other hand, we will address the reality plane to analyze where renewables are and how they are reacting to the pressures of the multiple geopolitical crises of recent years. The event is part of the project False myths about renewables which since 2023 has been collecting updated analyses and data and which this year has also launched a pilot project in schools in Parma, thanks to the contribution of Chiesi Farmaceutici.
