GREEN JOBS & SKILLS
According to Unioncamere’s forecasts for the 2025–2029 period, the demand for workers with skills related to sustainability and energy will approach 4 million units.
This impressive figure indicates that around two thirds of future hires will require a specific aptitude for energy efficiency and the reduction of environmental impact.
The most sought-after professional profiles range from the design of renewable energy systems to the energy retrofitting of buildings, up to the intelligent management of energy consumption in Industry 4.0.

A future-oriented project
Green Jobs & Skills is an initiative promoted by Italian Exhibition Group and KEY – The Energy Transition Expo.
The initiative is coordinated by Marco Gisotti, journalist and science communicator, and Scientific Director of the Green Factor agency.
As part of a broader innovation-focused project—which also includes the involvement of start-ups and innovative SMEs, as well as the Lorenzo Cagnoni Innovation Award—Green Jobs & Skills aims to be a meeting point between labour demand and supply, while also offering a valuable career guidance opportunity.
Working in the energy sector today means having a systemic vision, which is essential to ensure business competitiveness and support the country’s sustainable development.
