GREEN JOBS & SKILLS
According to Unioncamere’s forecasts for the 2025–2029 period, the demand for workers with skills related to sustainability and energy will approach 4 million units.
This impressive figure indicates that around two thirds of future hires will require a specific aptitude for energy efficiency and the reduction of environmental impact.
The most sought-after professional profiles range from the design of renewable energy systems to the energy retrofitting of buildings, up to the intelligent management of energy consumption in Industry 4.0.

As part of a broader innovation-focused project—which also includes the involvement of start-ups and innovative SMEs, as well as the Lorenzo Cagnoni Innovation Award—Green Jobs & Skills aims to be a meeting point between labour demand and supply, while also offering a valuable career guidance opportunity.
Working in the energy sector today means having a systemic vision, which is essential to ensure business competitiveness and support the country’s sustainable development.

OUT OF EXPO | “Green Jobs Go to School”
Thursday 5 March 2026, 10:00 AM
The “Green Jobs & Skills” project by KEY – The Energy Transition Expo moves to Rimini’s ITTS “Belluzzi – Da Vinci” Technical and Technological Institute, hosting a special career guidance session for students focused on emerging professions and skills.
The goal is to turn young people’s environmental awareness into real career opportunities, connecting the world of education with leading companies in the renewables sector. The meeting will open with an inspirational talk exploring the evolution of the labour market and the crucial role of energy-related professional profiles and skills, featuring a direct testimony from someone already working in these roles.
This initiative acts as a bridge between education and the local area, making Rimini an open-air laboratory for sustainable employment and offering students a compass to navigate the careers of the future with greater awareness.
The event is organised in collaboration with Unioncamere and the Energy ITS Academies – ITS ITALY, and will be hosted by journalist Marco Gisotti (Gigawatt Focus, La7), coordinator of the “Green Jobs & Skills” project.
