In 2023, investments in the field of clean energy are expected to reach an absolute record. More than 80% of the global economy has committed to take concrete steps towards carbon neutrality and the development of new technologies is reaching a decisive crossroad, where they will either be produced on a large scale or they will not meet expectations.
Africa is set to overtake the average global economy growth rate, with forecasts of about 4% in 2023 and 2024. A young and dynamic population that needs to win the challenge of the Just Transition towards cleaner and more accessible energy sources. South Africa needs to install at least 50GW of generation capacity to reach energy security. This scenario offers vast opportunities for cooperation between South African and Italian companies.
